Special feature story by David J Eicher, Editor-in-Chief. “A Sickness Over the Land.”

In many places in the world, science is under attack. The quality of information shared between people is seemingly getting worse, plagued by inaccuracies, exaggerations, overreactions, and outright lies.

In many places, pseudoscience is winning the day over science.

“The Big Bang never happened.”

“GMOs are bad for you and there’s a conspiracy to push them at consumers.”

“Global warming doesn’t exist.”

“Vaccines are killing children.”

In far too much of the media, let alone individual writings and postings, wholesale, anti-scientific sentiments seem to be winning the day.

Why is this?

You can read my special online feature story about the meaning and the mission of science here:

It’s called “A Sickness Over the Land: Why Scientists Believe What They Do, and Why the Public Too Often Doesn’t Go Along.”

I hope you’ll enjoy it.
